How do you see yourself?

In a previous blog post (finding self-love), I wrote prayer is intimacy. The more you spend time with God, you not only grow close to him (and know him) but yourself as well. You see, spending time in prayer and worship is like a mirror. As God opens your spiritual eyes, you begin to see what HE sees. You begin to hear HIS thoughts about you. Imagine God personally saying these words to you. “For I know the plans I have for you. I have plans to prosper you and not to harm you. I have plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11). Through this relationship, your thoughts come into an alignment with what God thinks and sees about you. You also hear him more clearly. As a result, you begin to transform on the inside: what you think about yourself, how you talk about yourself and how you see yourself. And when you can finally embrace who God created you to be, you will be more at peace, more joyous and freer!
